Some of them, anyway.
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) - In the wake of the school shooting in Connecticut and the massacre at the movie theater in Colorado, the Metro Nashville Police Department is making a big policy change.
The department will now allow its officers to carry their personally-owned rifles similar to the AR-15 platform while on duty. They estimate about one-third of Nashville police already own AR-15 type rifles, but do not yet know how many will volunteer to carry them.
